Pender Co. Schools announces Overton as transportation director
PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Britton Overton has been appointed to the role of director of transportation for Pender County Schools, effective immediately, the school system announced Thursday, April 18.
“Overton brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student safety and efficient transportation services to his new role,” PCS states in its announcement. “With a career dedicated to enhancing student transportation, Overton’s journey in the field began in 2012 with a focus on fleet maintenance before transitioning to student transportation in 2016. His expertise is rooted in North Carolina’s educational landscape, having previously served as the Director of Transportation for Camden County Schools.”
“In addition to his professional roles, Overton actively contributes to the community through advisory positions with the NC Pupil Transportation Association and the NC State Employees Credit Union advisory board. He also champions the annual NC Rock Autism Music Festival, an event cherished in Northeast North Carolina,” PCS adds.
