Pedestrian injured after hit by car in Shelby Twp. store parking lot, police say

Shelby Township police are investigating a car crash last weekend that injured a pedestrian in a store parking lot, officials said.

Officers were called at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday to a Target store near 26 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue for a serious injury crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle traveling west through the parking lot struck the victim walking south.

Police said the pedestrian was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the vehicle's driver remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with authorities.
