Madison Graduate Competes For Prestigious Music Scholarship

The vocalist from Vienna will compete at finals in the Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition.

From Patch Reader Callie Cooper: Soprano Callie Cooper graduated from James Madison High School in 2017. She now attends the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in Minneapolis Minnesota. Callie studies Vocal Performance with Professor Jean Del Santo. She was selected from hundreds of applicants as a Semifinalist in The Glenn Miller Scholarship Competition.

She will compete in the final rounds in June at The Glenn Miller Birthplace Society 43rd Annual Festival in Clarinda, Iowa. The Scholarship Competition awards six monetary awards to three vocalists and three instrumentalists. In the past Callie has won Opera Susquehanna’s Student Division, been a finalist in The Schmidt Competition for Young Singers and participated in the Washington National Opera Institute.
