Fort Gibson is celebrating its bicentennial with a “Party at the Fort” Saturday, April 20. The event includes a parade, vendors, food trucks and live music from noon until 11 p.m.

Movie, Inspyral Fire Circus
Guthrie Green’s 2024 Movie in the Park series kicks off Thursday with a free screening of “A League of Their Own.” The film was selected by the public in a social media poll. Every third Thursday of the month, Tulsans can bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy pre-show activities themed around the movie, including food trucks, vendors and more.

The series will continue with “Inside Out” (May 18), “The Color Purple” (June 15), “Shrek” (July 20), “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (Aug. 17) and “Selena” (Sept. 21). A public vote will determine whether the Oct. 19 movie will be “Monster Squad,” “Monsters Inc.” or “The Thing.”
Also, Guthrie Green is hosting the Inspyral Fire Circus from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Professional fire performers from the local entertainment company Inspyral Circus will showcase acrobatics, comedy and contortion in a vintage cabaret performance. Before the show, enjoy music and interact with the performers as they walk around greeting guests. The event is free and suitable for all ages.
Kip Moore, Nelly
Thursday performances by country artist Kip Moore (at Tulsa Theater) and Nelly (at River Spirit Casino) will launch music lovers into the weekend.
Moore’s genre-bending and critically acclaimed 2023 album “Damn Love” was co-produced with Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three and, coincidentally, The Cadillac Three is scheduled to perform Friday at Hard Rock Live inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Other concert events Friday include performances by Blue October (Tulsa Theater) and Lee Ann Womack (Osage Casino).
Dalí String Quartet
The Dalí String Quartet will perform three concerts to close out Chamber Music Tulsa’s 70th anniversary season. The ensemble will be featuring music by established and emerging Latin American composers at all three events.
The Friday, April 19, concert will be at 8 p.m. at LowDown, 108 N. Detroit Ave., and will feature works by Astor Piazzolla, Alberto Ginastera and Heitor Villa-Lobos. The quartet will perform music by Piazzolla, Sonia Morales and Juan Crisostomo de Arriaga at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in the Westby Pavilion of the Tulsa PAC, 101 E. Third St.
The Sunday Matinee concert, 3 p.m. in the Tulsa PAC’s Williams Theatre, 110 E. Second St., will have a program of quartets by Villa-Lobos, Ginastera, Javier Alvarez and Juan Ramirez.

Orbit Arts Festival
The Tulsa PAC Trust’s annual Orbit Arts Festival will showcase the broad and diverse talents in the city with a day-long event, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the Tulsa PAC, 110 E. Second St.
Dozens of performances will be taking place, from spoken word artists and traditional storytellers, to dance troupes ranging from folk dancing to cutting-edge contemporary; from opera singers and orchestral musicians, to steel drum and children’s music groups; from community theater groups to choral ensembles.
In addition, the festival will offer workshops in everything from somatic movement and puppetry to hip-hop and Irish step-dancing, as well as a variety of activities and craft-making opportunities.

Maple Ridge Art Happening
More than 50 local artists will have their work on display and for sale at the annual Maple Ridge Art Happening, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at 215 E. 29th St. in the Maple Ridge neighborhood.
The show will feature paintings, fiber art, mosaics, metal sculptures, jewelry, ceramics, custom-made wearable art and hand-woven baskets. Artists Josh Stout, Randolph Read Jr. and Gina Alusi will be creating new paintings during the event.
