It's the last day of the Easter bank holiday weekend, and while many of us will have made the most of a four-day weekend with family and friends - it's almost time to go back to the office.

And if heaps of paperwork are awaiting you when you step foot through the door, you'd certainly be forgiven for thinking about when your next long weekend is.

There are a total of eight bank holidays across the UK in 2024, and as we've already used up New Year's Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday, that means that five remain. And thankfully, we don't have to wait too long until the next one rolls around either.

Here, ChronicleLive breaks down all of the remaining bank holidays in 2024 - as well as the dates they land on.

When is the next UK bank holiday?

The next UK bank holiday comes in the form of the Early May bank holiday, which lands on Monday, May 6 this year. For those wondering why we have a random bank holiday at the start of the month, this one first originated as a Roman festival which celebrated the start of the summer.

As time passed, it became a day to campaign for the rights of workers.

What other bank holidays are left in 2024?

Here are all of the other UK bank holidays which are still to come.

  • Early May bank holiday - Monday, May 6
  • Spring bank holiday - Monday, May 27
  • Summer bank holiday - Monday, August 26
  • Christmas Day - Wednesday, December 25
  • Boxing Day - Thursday, December 26
