CULLOWHEE, N.C. (WLOS) — A bicyclist was killed Monday evening, April 15, in a collision with a vehicle in Cullowhee, North Carolina State Highway Patrol said Thursday, April 18.
The crash happened near but not on the campus of Western Carolina University.

N.C. State Highway Patrol Sgt. Aaron Ammons said Christopher Brett Anders, 43, of Cullowhee, was traveling south downhill on a steep section of Monteith Gap Road at about 8:15 p.m. Monday. Anders crossed the center line and crashed directly into an oncoming vehicle that was heading north.
Highway patrol said Anders was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and does not face any charges.
