POLICE ARE SEARCHING FOR THEE PEOPLE IN CONNECTION TO AN ARMED ROBBERY. THIS IS AT THE M AND W BUSINESS CENTER HAPPENING LAST NIGHT. THAT’S LOCATED ON COUNTRY CLUB ROAD. EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS THERE TOLD POLICE THREE PEOPLE CAME IN AND DEMANDED MONEY. POLICE SAY ONE FIRED A GUN. NO ONE WAS HIT. POLICE SAY THE THREE LEFT THE BUSINESS ON FOOT AND IF YOU HAVE INFORMATION TO CONTACT THEM OR CRIME STOPPERS. WINSTON SALEM POLICE ARE ALSO SEARCHING FOR THE PERSON WHO SHOT INTO A CAR NEAR SILAS CREEK PARKWAY AND HANES MALL BOULEVARD LAST NIGHT. THE DRIVER OF THAT CAR TOLD POLICE A CAR HAD BEEN FOLLOWING HIM, AND SOMEONE INSIDE BEGAN FIRING SHOTS. WE’RE TOLD THE DRIVER WAS NOT HIT BY ANY OF THE BULLETS. NO SUSPECT INFORMATION HAS BEEN RELEASED. THE MAN SHOT BY FORSYTH COUNTY DEPUTIES TWO DAYS AGO WILL FACE A JUDGE TODAY AFTER BEING RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL YESTERDAY. 56 YEAR-OLD MICHAEL GREER WAS CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF FELONY ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WITH A FIREARM. THIS STEMS FROM THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE BEING CALLED TO THE KEYSTONE AT WALKERTOWN LANDING APARTMENTS MONDAY ABOUT A SUSPICIOUS PERSON DEPUTIES SAY THEY ENCOUNTERED GREER WITH A GUN IN HIS POCKET. THEY SAY HE THEY ISSUED COMMANDS AND WHEN HE DID NOT COMPLY, THEY SHOT HIM. THE TWO DEPUTIES INVOLVED ARE NOW ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. THAT IS STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR TONIGHT. LEADERS FROM SEVERAL PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENTS IN GREENSBORO WILL HOLD ANOTHER PUBLIC MEETING SO RESIDENTS CAN HEAR WHAT’S BEING DONE TO KEEP THEM SAFE AND ASK QUESTIONS. The bicyclist was not wearing any reflective clothing, the roadway was not lighted, and no lights were on the bicycle, according to Highway Patrol.The bicyclist, Timothy Mark Eaker, 59, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver was not injured.Investigators said impairment or speed were not contributing factors. A bicyclist has died after he was hit by a car in Lincoln County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

On Wednesday around 9 p.m., troopers said they responded to and investigated a fatal collision on NC 182 near Sorrells Baxter Road.

Troopers said a 2016 Jeep Cherokee was traveling east and hit the bicyclist riding eastbound in the roadway. The bicyclist was not wearing any reflective clothing, the roadway was not lighted, and no lights were on the bicycle, according to Highway Patrol.

The bicyclist, Timothy Mark Eaker, 59, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver was not injured.

Investigators said impairment or speed were not contributing factors. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for several hours.

No charges are expected to be filed in this case.
