Life Time has opened its 54,000-square-foot luxury athletic club at the Penn 1 office tower in Manhattan that includes seven pickleball courts for New York City's largest indoor destination for the popular sport.

The opening at 250 W. 34th St. comes after Vornado Realty Trust redeveloped the 55-story, 2.5 million-square-foot building.

"Life Time Penn 1 is a core piece of our vision for The Penn District as a vibrant and welcoming community powered by the highest-quality amenities and operators," Glen Weiss, executive vice president of office leasing and co-head of real estate at Vornado, said in a statement. "From health and wellness options to an array of dining selections and inspired social spaces, The Penn District offers residents, commuters and visitors endless ways to come together, day and night."

The seven street-level pickleball courts at Life Time's Penn 1 location will be the most for any athletic club in New York City, the fitness club said in a statement. The location will also have Alpha, GTX and UltraFit training programs.

Aside from Life Time Penn 1, the club has opened seven other locations in New York City since its founding in 2016. It plans to open two more locations at The Brooklyn Tower and Park Avenue South in the near future.

Memberships for the Penn 1 location start at $249 per month for those under the age of 26 and above the age of 65. Its signature membership starts at $279, and its premier membership starts at $329.
