CAPE CARTERET — Cape Carteret has been informally notified it has been awarded a $776,000 federal Carbon Reduction Program grant for the construction of a new multi-use path along Highway 24 between Yaupon Drive and Bayshore Drive on the south side of Highway 24.

Town Manager Frank Rush informed the board of commissioners of the pending award during its monthly meeting Monday night in the town hall off Dolphin Street.
