Emergency management personnel are searching for a missing man in the Dysartsville area of Burke County.Â
Justin Alan Scott, 42, is described as a 5-foot, 10-inch white male with dark brown hair and brown eyes, according to a press release from the Burke County Sheriff's Office. He weighs about 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a black and tan North Face jacket with black and tan hiking boots with orange shoelaces, the release said.Â
Scott had a small gray-and-black dog named "Freya" with him the last time he was seen, the release said. The dog had on a gray-and-black harness with a teal leash.Â
Scott was last seen leaving his home near Gold Mine Road in the Dysartsville area of western Burke County and has not returned. He was last seen on foot around 10 a.m. Tuesday and may have been walking in the wooded area or on roads near Gold Mine Road between Dysartsville Road and US 64, the release said.Â

BCSO has requested assistance from the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections K9 team and Burke County Emergency Management/SAR teams, and they are working to coordinate search efforts in the area.
