WAYLAND, MI — An executive recruitment firm in the hospitality and casino gaming industry has named Gun Lake Casino CEO Sal Semola to its “Best of the Best” list.
The list, created by Bentley Price Associates, recognizes executive leaders, who are nominated by their peers, based on leadership skills demonstrated throughout their careers, according to a news release from Gun Lake Casino.
Bentley Price Associates noted Semola’s “many years of experience” and other accomplishments when naming him to the list. Semola began his career in the gaming and hospitality industry almost 50 years ago as a dishwasher, according to Gun Lake Casino. He’s spent the past 25 years as an executive in the industry working with different gaming operations in the U.S.
According to his LinkedIn page, he served as president of Semola Consulting/Cornerstone Gaming Management from 2013 to 2017. Before that, from 2009 to 2013, he was executive vice president of Warner Gaming in Las Vegas. He was the chief operating officer at Greektown Casino-Hotel from 1999 to 2004.
He was hired at Gun Lake Casino in 2017 as president and chief operating officer. In 2022, following an expansion that included new restaurants and live entertainment, he was named the casino’s CEO.
