Megan Thee Stallion makes heartbreaking confession about the aftermath of shooting incident

Megan Thee Stallion has opened up about the aftermath of being shot, and claimed she wasn’t treated like a “human”.

Rapper Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023 for shooting the 29-year-old singer in the foot back in 2020.

During a new interview with Women’s Health magazine, Megan said: “A lot of people didn’t treat me like I was human for a long time.”

She said: “I feel like everybody was always used to me being the fun and happy party girl. I watched people build me up, tear me down, and be confused about their expectations of me.”

“As a black woman, as a darker black woman, I also feel like people expect me to take the punches, take the beating, take the lashings, and handle it with grace. But I’m human.”

Tory famously shot Megan in the foot after they left a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020.

During the trial, the court heard how he fired a gun at Megan’s feet as she walked away from an SUV they were in – leaving her with two bullet wounds in her foot.

The hip-hop star also opened up about her struggles with mental health after the incident.

She told the publication: “I didn’t want to see the sun. I knew I wasn’t myself. It took me a while to acknowledge that I was depressed. But once I started talking to a therapist, I was able to be truthful with myself.”

Megan is now set to release her third album, and will embark on her Hot Girl Summer tour this year.

“I was inspired to create this album about rebirth because I feel I am becoming a new person physically and mentally,” she explained.

Tory was slapped with a 10-year prison sentence after he was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Following his sentencing, Tory maintained his “innocence”, and claimed he was “wrongfully convicted”.
