CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Florida attorney and certified public accountant who exported his sophisticated tax shelter scheme to Northeast Ohio was sentenced Thursday to eight years in prison.

Michael L. Meyer helped rich clients illegally avoid paying some $20 million in taxes, while pocketing more than $10 million for himself.
