Cook County State’s Attorney Election Results
Two Democrats are facing off in the primary election for Cook County’s top prosecutor: Eileen O’Neill Burke, a moderate and retired appellate judge, and Clayton Harris III, a progressive who is seen as the successor to Kim Foxx, who declined to seek a third term. Ms. Foxx’s tenure brought promised criminal justice reforms but also heavy criticism.

Illinois is holding presidential primaries on Tuesday as well as its state primary, which will include races for state and congressional offices. Voters do not register by party, but they may participate in only one party’s primary election.
