Miley Cyrus Earns Her First Hit On A Billboard Charts She’s Never Reached Before

Following

Throughout her decade-plus-long career, Miley Cyrus has tried her hand at a lot of different styles of music. She’s succeeded with pop, dance, rock, and even leaned into R&B and hip-hop with a few tunes during a specific period. Now, she’s earned a country smash, and it brings her to the highest reaches of a chart she’s never appeared on before.

Cyrus collects her first placement on Billboard’s Country Streaming Songs chart this week. As its name suggests, the tally ranks the most-streamed tracks on platforms like Spotify and Apple AAPL Music each frame that the chart company labels as country.

On this week’s Country Streaming Songs chart, Cyrus debuts “II Most Wanted” at No. 2. The tune is a collaboration between the pop star and Beyoncé, and their joint fame and popularity made the cut an instant streaming smash.

“II Most Wanted” almost conquered the Country Streaming Songs chart, but it was beaten to the throne by another closely-related cut. Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” returns to the top spot on this streaming-only ranking, earning a third stay at No. 1 on the list.

While Cyrus is only now collecting her first hit on this chart, Beyoncé has earned a number of wins on the list. This frame, she fills 15 of the 25 spots on the Country Streaming Songs chart. That sum includes two tracks that have previously landed on the tally, as both “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” which were released simultaneously several weeks ago, have already spent time on this roster.

“II Most Wanted” is the biggest new song featured on Beyoncé’s latest album Cowboy Carter. The set arrived at No. 1 on a number of charts this week, and fans selected their favorite tracks from the project. The Cyrus collaboration opens at No. 6 on the Hot 100, beating out every other debut on the tally… though “Texas Hold ‘Em” is the highest-ranking tune from the full-length this time around, as it jumps to the runner-up spot.
