Not only are they super stylish, in a vibrant lilac shade that matches both of the actress-turned-pop star’s album covers, but they sound great. Whether I’m streaming music — these LinkBuds support Dolby Atmos on Apple Music when available, which is a game-changer — or listening to an audiobook, I always find myself reaching for my Sony x Olivia Rodrigo LinkBuds.
What makes them specific to Rodrigo, though, aside from the color? Sony has a headphones app that you can use to customize settings, including an equalizer with custom and preset mixes. Among the mixes, and exclusive to Rodrigo’s LinkBuds, are two EQ settings fine-tuned specifically for “SOUR” and “GUTS,” both of the singer’s albums — hear songs like “Good 4 U” and “get him back!” the way they were meant to be heard.
I found that these LinkBuds are a great intro into the world of headphones beyond the AirPods Pro I typically wore before these. The Sony Headphones app, which you have to download to pair the headphones with the device of your choice, is super simple to use.
In addition to the equalizers, you can also switch between active noise cancellation — which blew me away compared to the AirPods noise cancellation — and 20 different levels of ambient sound, which filters outside noise in.
It really doesn’t feel like an exaggeration to say that I hear music differently with these.
