SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Tuesday near SeaWorld San Diego, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, an unidentified man was reportedly dancing in the eastbound lanes on 400 Sea World Dr. shortly before 9 p.m. The reason for this is unknown.

At that same time, police said a 48-year-old woman was driving a Honda Fit in the eastbound right lane of the roadway and struck the pedestrian.

The man was flung into the eastbound left lane, where he was then ran over by a 22-year-old man driving a Toyota Camry, according to the police department.

At that point, a 35-year-old man driving a Dodge Grand Caravan was reported to have rear-ended the Toyota Camry.

The pedestrian was found underneath the vehicle that struck him and police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Traffic Division responded to the crash site and are investigating the collision. DUI was not determined to be a factor, police said.
