Killeen residents were greeted to a rare sight Thursday with a person dangling from a helicopter hovering above Interstate 14 in Killeen.
But there was no reason for alarm.
Officials shut down eastbound and westbound lanes on Interstate 14 and Central Texas Expressway between W.S. Young Drive and Trimmier Road in Killeen Thursday in order to work on power lines, according to a Killeen Police Department social media post.
The helicopter was assisting powerline renovation work being conducted by Oncor.
“The lanes are expected to be shut down twice (unknown times) for approximately 15 minutes. They will re-open the lanes when it is safe and traffic can continue to flow as normal,” KPD said in the post.
