The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Suggs, who is now 41, was booked on charges of threatening and disorderly conduct involving weapons from an incident on March 10.

Suggs made his initial court appearance in front of a Superior Court judge just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, where it was learned that he was the alleged instigator in a road rage incident. In court documents, investigators say the argument started over whether Suggs had backed into the victim’s vehicle while in a Starbucks drive-thru near Hayden Road and Thompson Peak Parkway in north Scottsdale.

The victim reportedly approached Suggs, and the pair began to fight but eventually got back into their cars and placed their coffee orders. Later, both began to swear at each other when Suggs allegedly said, “You wanna go? I’ll kill your b**ch a**. Detectives say Suggs eventually pulled out a gun but never pointed it at the victim. Both left afterward, and the victim reported the incident to police, who later identified the driver as Suggs.

A Maricopa County judge ultimately ordered Suggs on supervised release. His next court date is listed as Apr. 25.

Suggs is a two-time Super Bowl champion, having won Super Bowl XLVII in 2012 with the Baltimore Ravens and again in 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He was also a two-time All-Pro and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2011.
