TeeOff Time: 10 Cape Cod high school girl golfers to watch

It's time to bring out the clubs and hit the green as the Cape Cod girls golf season in underway.

There are only five teams (Barnstable, Dennis-Yarmouth, Falmouth, Monomoy, Nauset), but that does not mean there is not a lot of talent on the Cape.

Whether it's a eagle, birdie, or a put, these golfers are ready to showcase their swings.

Here are some girl golfers to watch for the 2024 season.

Alexa Garthee, Barnstable

Alexa Garthee is making her debut on the green in her senior season, and will be the number two golfer for the Red Hawks.

Megan Garthee, Barnstable

Megan Garthee, the younger sister of Alexa, is the number one player for the Red Hawks and a returning Cape and Islands All-Star as a sophomore.

Kendra Hayes, Dennis-Yarmouth

The junior was an All-League selection and placed 30th in the State Tournament last season.

"Kendra is a solid golfer and brings a ton of experience to share with her teammates," D-Y head coach Traci Wyse said. "I look forward to seeing what she can accomplish this season."

Kayla SanClemente, Falmouth

SanClemente will lead the Clippers in her final high school season before she goes to the University of Tampa next year.

"Kayla has been a consistent top player from Falmouth all four years," Falmouth head coach Carrie Shanahan said. "She continues to work on her game and has great understanding of the rules."

Ava Packett, Monomoy

The senior captain is currently the number one ranked player for the Sharks.

"Ava is a five-year starter for Monomoy, and is an incredibly long hitter," Monomoy head coach John Anderson said.

Sally Watson, Monomoy

Watson is a senior captain, and a five-year member of the Sharks.

"Sally is the team's gel and makes the entire team into a cohesive unit," Anderson said.

Yu Ying Zou, Monomoy

Zou is also a senior captain, and and a five-year member of the team.

"This Harvard-bound senior leads with her incredible work ethic and incredible form," Anderson said.

Audrey Jones, Nauset

The senior is in her fourth year on the varsity team, and was recently named team captain for the Warriors.

"Audrey is a natural leader," Nauset head coach Brian Hicks said. "She is much improved after spending the off-season working with Blue Rock's Jim Campbell."

Bella Roberts, Nauset

The senior is in her fourth year on the varsity team.

"Bella is coming off a very successful winter season, helping lead the hockey team on a deep playoff run," Hicks said. "She brings a hockey player's grit and competitiveness to the golf course which will benefit the entire team."

Sophie Sullivan, Nauset

Junior Sullivan has been the Warriors' number one player since her freshman year.

"She has continued to work hard and to make significant strides," Hicks said. "She should be one of the top players on the Cape."
