WHITESVILLE, Ky. (WEVV) — The Whitesville Lions Club will host its annual Chili Supper and Pie Auction on Friday, April 19th.Â
The annual fundraiser supports Wendell Foster and Puzzle Pieces, which are two local non-profit charities supporting those with disabilities.Â
The auction will begin at 6 p.m. at the Whitesville Senior Citizen Center, located at 10345 Highway 54 in Whitesville.Â
Organizers say chili, hot dogs, and drinks will be served at 5 p.m.
"It's always a privilege to participate in the Whitesville Lions Club Pie Auction," says Amanda Owen, Executive Director at Puzzle Pieces. "The proceeds from this event play a vital role in funding programming for our 400+ clients. As someone born and raised in Whitesville, I'm deeply proud of my hometown's commitment to making a positive impact in our community."
Attendees can expect a variety of sweets up for auction.
Last year's donations included several pies, cupcakes, cookies, and cakes.Â
A total of $12,000 was raised at the 2023 event for the two non-profits.Â
Each Lions Club member brings a dessert, and numerous residents from the Whitesville and Owensboro communities also participate.Â
