The “Killeen Roadshow” is in town through Saturday with appraisers to help decide the value of vintage items, old coins and jewelry or collectible memorabilia for a possible sale.
Premier Gold, Silver and Coins is an Ohio-based company with many buying managers throughout the nation.
Bret Kuchar, one of those buying managers, is in Killeen this week for Premier through Saturday at the Holiday Inn Express for the Killeen Roadshow.
“The line of sellers was very promising when we opened the show on Tuesday,” Kuchar said. “Some decided to come back later, but there are a lot of collectors in Killeen.”
Kuchar suggests looking in old suitcases, boxes in the attic or even storage facilities for items that may bring a price.
“Our purpose is to provide an avenue to liquidate assets that are no longer needed or wanted,” Kuchar said.
His company has over 600 buyers of unusual items and his job is to know the value of items, no matter how unique.
“Comic books and baseball cards are things we see a lot of,” Kuchar said. “Then there are people who have scrap or old jewelry that no longer has any value to them.”
The show continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The hotel is located at 2603 Gateway Drive near H-E-B on Lowes Boulevard.
Kuchar said to bring precious metals, antique toys, commemorative items, any type of sports memorabilia, sterling flatware and tea sets, wrist and pocket watches, even paper currency before 1934.
“Whatever you have, we can give you a value on it,” Kuchar said. “But remember, value is based on what someone else will pay for it.”
