SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -Iowa’s Texas Roadhouse restaurants, and local law enforcement, are inviting patrons to a fundraiser to benefit “Special Olympics Iowa.”

Police officers, athletes and volunteers are helping serve guests and collect donations, at “Tip-A-Cop” events at every Texas Roadhouse in Iowa. All donations will directly benefit Iowa Special Olympics Athletes.

There are over nine thousand athletes who compete in Special Olympics across the state of Iowa who enjoy being able to compete in different events.

Director of Competitions, Katie Wiese said, “I know some Sioux City athletes not only compete in the area, the state level, they compete at the national level,” Wiese said, “We have even had some compete at the world level so makes a huge impact on athletes being able to get experience not only here in Iowa, but across the world.”
