Redlands’ LifeHouse Theater will present the Broadway musical “Fiddler on the Roof,” opening 7 p.m. Saturday, April 6.

The 1964 musical, with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and book by Joseph Stein, is based on “Tevye and his Daughters” by Sholem Aleichem and is set in Russia around the turn of the 20th century. The 1971 film version of “Fiddler on the Roof” won several Academy Awards, and the play has been translated into many languages.

Jana Smith directs LifeHouse Theater’s production. Others on the production staff are Nolan Livesay, music director; Michael Milligan, choreographer; Beth Derry, costumer; Jacob Michel, set designer; Emily Yeo, assistant director. Lighting and sound design are by Josiah Evans.

Tim Lemus stars as Tevye, and Sarah E. Pearce plays his wife, Golde. In the roles of their daughters are Noel Sassoon as Tzeitel, Morgan Livesay as Hodel, Jordan Evans as Chava, Hannah Smith as Shprintze and Avery Devine as Bielke.

Others are Jennifer M. DeWitt as Yente, Nathan Smith as Motel, Chazz Duran as Perchik, Jonathan Bushey as Lazar Wolf, Aaron Yañez as Mordcha, Ed Derry as Avram, Paul Jackson as Fyedka and Josiah Evans as Sasha.

Nolan Livesay and Micah Derry will alternate as the fiddler.

After opening night, performances continue at 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through May 12. There is one Thursday performance, at 7 p.m. May 9.

Advance tickets are $28 or $24 for adults and $14 or $12 for children ages 3 to 12, available at lifehousetheater.com or by calling 909-335-3037. Tickets are $2 more the day of the performance.

LifeHouse Theater is at 1135 N. Church St. in Redlands, and there is free parking behind the theater.
