Pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries, police said

Shelby Township police are looking for witnesses to a crash earlier this week in a shopping center parking lot that critically injured a pedestrian.

According to a news release, the incident took place about 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Target parking lot on 26 Mile Road near Van Dyke Avenue.

Police said the preliminary investigation shows a vehicle was traveling through the parking lot and struck the pedestrian who was walking in the lot.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

Investigators said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperated with police.
