Five teenagers arrested Sunday morning for alleged armed robbery and carjacking in Columbia

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Howard County Police Department officers Sunday morning arrested five teenagers who are charged with armed robbery and carjacking.

Officers responded to the 10500 block of Green Mountain Circle in Wilde Lake in Columbia around 8:20 a.m. for an attempted carjacking and found the suspect’s vehicle, which fled a traffic stop, Howard County Police said. The teenagers were eventually arrested in Baltimore City, police said.

Officers also responded to an alleged armed robbery and attempted armed carjacking that occurred earlier that morning nearby, police said.

The youth suspects, a 15-year-old boy, a pair of 14-year-old boys and a pair of 15-year-old girls, are being held at various juvenile justice centers in the state and will be charged as youth, police said. Maryland law allows 16-year-olds to be charged as adults for armed robbery and carjacking.
