Lady Amelia Windsor Goes Sporty-Chic in Chunky Sneakers in London
Lady Amelia Windsor was seen walking the streets of London on Wednesday in a pair of black chunky sneakers.
Strolling the sidewalks of Notting Hill, the shoes featured a thick padded toe box and matching black laces for a sporty-chic comfortable appearance. Known for her laidback style, cozier options have recently become a part of Lady Amelia’s signature footwear style.

In early April, she was pictured wearing a pair of black platform boots while walking in London. The day before, Lady Amelia attended a dinner to celebrate Sézane’s New Editions collection at The Old Sessions House in a pair of chunky over-the-knee leather platform boots. She was also spotted in a similar pair of bedazzled platforms at the beginning of March while walking the red carpet during the UK Series Global Premiere of “The Gentlemen” at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
While sometimes the royal will opt for formal footwear options such as pointed-toe pumps, she is known mostly for wearing either platform boots and chunky sneakers.
Chunky Sneakers
Chunky sneakers were first popularized in the 1980s for their practicality, comfort and stability. Though the sneaker style’s popularity slowed in the 2000s, chunky sneakers reemerged as part of the divisive “ugly” shoe trend in the late-2010s, capturing the attention of all genders.
