More warmth on Friday, but showers and storms enter the picture

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — The sun returned on Thursday and temperatures responded! For the third time this week, high temps reached the upper 80s.

That’s warm stuff for April, considering the average high is only 74 degrees. But we’ll get back to “normal”– even below — as we progress through the weekend.

We’ve got another warm day in the 80s Friday, but a cold front will be approaching. That’s going to develop some showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. Stay weather aware, too — some storms could produce damaging wind gusts and/or hail. It’s a low risk of severe storms, but not zero!

That front won’t move very far to the south on Saturday, so a little rain could linger in the morning before the afternoon gets drier. Don’t get used to it, though. An area of low pressure will push in more rain for Sunday. Cooler temperatures, too! Highs will only be around 60 on Sunday.

The cooler air lingers through Monday, then temps start to moderate back to near normal the rest of the week.

Tonight: Clouds moving in late. Low 62.

Friday: Clouds and sun. Mainly p.m. showers and storms. High 84.
