Stockton gas station robbery turns deadly, employee fatally shot

(FOX40.COM) — An employee of a Stockton area gas station was killed early Thursday morning during a robbery of the business, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Police say that around 1:40 a.m., multiple people entered a gas station convivence store in the 4800 block of E 99 Frontage Road to rob the business.

While the robbery was taking place an altercation began between one of the suspected robbers and an employee of the store.

At some point the employee was shot by the robbers who then fled the scene in a vehicle.

When responding officers and medics arrived at the scene of the shooting they found the 50-year-old man with signs of gunshot wounds and declared him dead at the scene.

Police have not released any suspect information.
