A Girls Aloud interview descended into chaos live on air.

Scott Mills invited Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts onto his Radio 2 show on Monday to talk about their upcoming reunion tour which is kicking off around the UK in the next few months. A clip from the interview shows the chat getting hilariously heated after Scott asked if the group were planning on performing any new covers on the tour.

Nicola replied: "I don't think we've got space," before Cheryl added: "I've said it several times, people like it!" Nadine disagreed, explained: "I was dead against it. I'm like we've got so many songs of Girls Aloud as our own. Why do we need to be doing it?" Cheryl insisted: "But we can add just one random cover, it's fun!"

Interjecting, Scott said: "You join as there is a slight disagreement with Girls Aloud in between whether they should do covers or just the hits. We'll be back after this..." The clip picked up with the girls continuing to talk over each other, as Scott said: "Girls Aloud are here and they're still discussing whether they're going to do a cover version or just their hits. Have we come to an agreement yet?"

Ignoring the presenter, Cheryl said: "I'm not saying we shouldn't be doing any," before pleading "guys" when she was interrupted again. Scott stepped in and told Cheryl to put her point across. She said: "I think we should do all and... for the sake of three minutes more." Scott asked: "But how long's the show? Five hours?"

"Exactly!" Nadine exclaimed as Scott quipped: "We're going to have to raise hands again." Girls Aloud's reunion tour kicks off next month after confirming last year their plans to get back together for a series of shows. Announcing the tour in November, the group revealed they had not recorded new music but wanted to celebrate their back catalogue and late bandmate Sarah Harding, who died in September 2021.

Cheryl revealed they had been discussing the idea of a reunion for some time but paused discussions when Sarah was diagnosed with cancer. She said in a statement: "We all started talking about the possibility of doing something to celebrate Girls Aloud's 20-year anniversary a few years ago. The anniversary seemed like an obvious thing that we would celebrate.

"But when Sarah fell ill all priorities changed. She passed away a year before the anniversary and it just didn't feel right, it felt too soon." Girls Aloud revealed the new tour would be "a celebration of Sarah, our music and our incredible fans. We can’t wait to sing & dance with you again.”
