The Frenchwoman is into the quarterfinals of Wuhan.

Caroline Garcia has quietly made her way into the Top 20, and is doing her part to stay there. This week in Wuhan, the Frenchwoman stunned Angelique Kerber and Dominika Cibulkova to reach the quarterfinals. It's the 23-year-old's eighth quarterfinal appearance in 2017.

Her biggest high this season has come in front of a home crowd at the French Open. It marked her first quarterfinal Grand Slam run, and she followed it with a fourth-round showing at Wimbledon.

Garcia has made steady progress her entire career, but this season in particular has been satisfying. She climbed to a career-high of No. 19 this summer, marking the first time she's cracked the Top 20. Since separating herself from the Fed Cup drama that embroiled Team France earlier this season, she's done nothing but move up the ranks.
