  1. Goodnight

    FT: Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

That's all from me tonight, as Edinburgh see off Bayonne to reach the last eight of the Challenge Cup.

Thanks for your company, go enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Grant Gilchrist
  2. 'Forwards fronted up' - Watson

    FT: Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

Edinburgh flanker Hamish Watson has been named Player of the Match, and has been giving his thoughts to Viaplay:

"It was pretty scrappy in the first 20 minutes. We found it hard to defend them early on - they came to play, full credit to them.

"The forwards fronted up really well today. We showed what we could do out there."

  3. Post update

    FT: Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

Bayonne's travelling fans don't look too down about the result.

They are bouncing up and down in one corner of Murrayfield, and give their heroes a rousing ovation as the players thank them for their support.

  4. Post update

    FT: Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

    Duncan Weir

Glasgow and Scotland fly-half on Viaplay

Edinburgh showed way more quality in attack than last week.

They were patient, didn't lose any cheap turnover, and were really clinical.

There's still room for improvement, but it was much improved.

  5. Full-time

    Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

Ben Healy boots the ball into row z, and Edinburgh are through to the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup.

Bayonne put up a good fight, particularly in the first half, but Edinburgh's quality shone through after the break and they thoroughly deserved their win.

    Edinburgh celebrate
  6. Post update

    Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

Bayonne pile forward again, but Edinburgh do well to get the maul to ground and win a scrum.

  7. Post update

    Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

Edinburgh are in no mood to let the visitors back in though, and get over the ball to win a penalty at the breakdown.

Sean Everitt allows himself a wee smile up in the stands.

  8. Post update

    Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

Bayonne are in the Edinburgh 22 for the first time in a fair while here.

They would like to finish a disappointing second half with a flourish...

  9. Converted try Edinburgh 33-15 Bayonne

    Duhan van der Merwe

You don't stop the big man from there.

Duhan van der Merwe has hardly touched the ball tonight, but he takes his chance when it comes.

Ben Healy fires a great flat pass out to the Scotland winger, who hares down the line and crashes through Kleo Labarbe's attempted tackle to score in the corner.

Ben Healy adds the extras from out wide.

  10. Post update

    Edinburgh 26-15 Bayonne

Bayonne look to run it from their own 22, but a handling error gifts possession back to Edinburgh.

You sense the visitors are tiring now,

  11. Post update

    Edinburgh 26-15 Bayonne

Edinburgh look much more confident now, and they look set for another try when Wes Goosen is released down the left wing.

However, a knock-on sees it come to nothing.

  12. Post update

    Edinburgh 26-15 Bayonne

    Duncan Weir

Glasgow and Scotland fly-half on Viaplay

It's a huge momentum shift for Edinburgh.

The forwards plug away and the cheeky scrum-half takes advantage.

  13. Converted try EDINBURGH 26-15 Bayonne

    Ben Vellacott

That could be a decisive blow.

Edinburgh go through the phases, and as soon as Ben Vellacott spots a gap, he snipes and dives over from close range.

Ben Healy adds the extras and the lead is now 11 points. Edinburgh were three down just five minutes ago.

  14. Post update

    Edinburgh 19-15 Bayonne

Ben Healy boots the penalty right into the corner.

It's a wonderful kick and Edinburgh have another big chance here.

  15. Sin-bin - Yan Lestrade (Bayonne)

    Edinburgh 19-15 Bayonne

It's really naughty from Yan Lestrade. He tucks his right arm as he dives in late on Ben Vellacott, and is rightly shown yellow.

Ben Healy knocks over the conversion, and Edinburgh will have a penalty on halfway in lieu of a restart.

  16. Try EDINBURGH 17-15 Bayonne

    Ben Vellacott

    Edinburgh lead once more.

Ben Vellacott snipes of the back of a ruck, and then steps off his left foot to beat the last man and score under the posts.

Away centre Yan Lestrade might be in bother as well - he goes in late on Vellacott after the scrum-half had dotted down. The TMO is having a look at it.

    Vellacott try
  17. Post update

    Edinburgh 12-15 Bayonne

Edinburgh have a penalty advantage just outside the Bayonne 22.

Will they look to try something? We've hardly seen Duhan van der Merwe this evening...

  18. Try Edinburgh 12-15 Bayonne

    Tom Spring

And straight from the restart, Bayonne score a wonderful long-range try.

It's all about Nadir Megdoud, who jinks out of a tackle and times his pass to perfection to release Tom Spring.

Wes Goosen does his best to get across to prevent the score, but Spring holds him off long enough to dot down in the corner.

Spring can't quite add the extras.

  19. Penalty Edinburgh 12-10 Bayonne

    Tom Spring

Through it goes, and that little pocket of French fans are dancing in the stands.

  20. Post update

    Edinburgh 12-7 Bayonne

Just when things were looking up for Edinburgh, Bayonne win a scrum penalty right in front of the posts.

Tom Spring calls for his kicking tee.
