Teen fatally shot in San Antonio parking lot on east side, police say

EMS provided life saving measures for the young man but they were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

SAN ANTONIO — A teenager was killed late Friday night after being shot in the parking lot of a Dollar Tree on the east side of town.

San Antonio Police responded to the parking lot located at East Houston Street and North New Braunfels Avenue around 11:57 p.m. for reports of a fatal shooting. According to an officer on the scene, there was some type of disturbance in the parking lot at the Dollar Tree. 

A shot was fired during the disturbance, hitting a 18-year-old man in the chest. 

EMS provided life saving measures for the young man but they were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have several people detained for questioning as their investigation continues.
