SPENCERVILLE, Ohio (WFFT) - A deadly three-vehicle crash in Lima led to an Ohio State Highway Patrol investigation.

Ohio Highway says the accident happened in Spencerville, on April 17th, at 9:30 a.m.

Officials say a 2007 Chevy Cobalt driven by Felicia M. Higginbotham, 20, Lima, was traveling on Sunderland Road and did not stop at the Spencerville Road intersection stop sign.

Ohio Highway says Higginbotham's failure to stop resulted in a collision with Nicholas J. Meyers, 34, Grover Hill, in his 1996 Kenworth Semi-truck.

After colliding with Meyer's semi-truck, Officials say Higginbotham's vehicle was hit by Jeffrey D. Hunt, 60, Lima, in a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The two cars came to a rest on the south side of the roadway, and the semi-truck remained on the road.

Ohio Highway says Higginbotham suffered fatal injuries from the crash. Myers was treated at the scene by Spencerville EMS, and Hunt went to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials say the crash is under investigation, with no alcohol or drug use as a considerable factor.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol worked alongside the Spencerville Police Department, American Township Police Department, Spencerville Fire and EMS, Allen County Coroner’s Office, Allen County EMA, ODOT, Amanda Township Road Maintenance in the accident.
