Sprouts Farmers Market Settles EEOC Sex Discrimination Charge

Sprouts Farmers Market will pay $265,000 to a class of workers to settle a sex discrimination charge at a store location in the San Fernando Valley, Calif., according to the EEOC on Friday.

The national grocery chain allegedly subjected a group of employees to sexual harassment and retaliated against them once they complained about the harassment. Such alleged conduct violates Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, according to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Per the one-year conciliation agreement settling the charge, Sprouts must update its policies, retain an external Title VII consultant, and update its investigation process.
