A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:18 p.m. Saturday, April 13, has claimed the life of a Hixson, Tenn. man.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Jack L. Rice, 27, was killed when the 2012 Chrysler 200 he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Rice was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected, according to troopers. Rice was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he died from his injuries.

The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near the 149 mile marker, approximately one mile north of Argo. Nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
