3 firefighters injured, person rescued in Russell neighborhood fire
Crews are in the Russell neighborhood Friday afternoon working to put out a fire.
Louisville Fire Department officials said the fire started around 12:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of W Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

Once crews were on the scene, a person inside of the three-story building was rescued and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There were not any other occupants inside of the building, officials said.
The fire was escalated to a three-alarm status, taking nearly 100 firefighters more than an hour to get it under control.
Fire officials said that three firefighters were injured fighting the fire. One had a laceration to their hand, another fell from the second floor, and a third was bitten by a cat.
The firefighter who fell from the second floor has "traumatic" but non-life-threatening injuries, while the other two also have non-life-threatening injuries.
All firefighters were discharged from the hospital later Friday evening.
LFD Arson is investigating the cause of the fire at this time.
