Two families displaced after fire destroys two homes in south Laredo

LAREDO, TX. (KGNS) - Two families are left without a home after a fire destroyed their houses over the weekend.

The fire was reported on Saturday at around 4:30 p.m. at the 2800 block of Lavanda Drive.

According to Laredo Fire Department, two mobile homes and two cars were involved in the fire.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze, but both properties were completely damaged.

Two women in their early twenties were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The Red Cross was notified so they could help the families affected by the fire.

Investigators with the fire department are investigating the cause of the fire.
