(FOX40.COM) — A man was found dead inside a truck that was found fully submerged in a creek at the easternmost edge of Stanislaus County on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said that it received a call about a crash around 11:10 a.m. near La Grange Dam Road and State Route 132, also known as Yosemite Blvd. The area is about 35 miles east of Modesto.

The truck, a white Dodge Ram, was found fully submerged in Goodwin Creek, which flows just south of the Tuolumne River.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office sent a dive team to the site and the crew found the body of a man inside.

The CHP said the man was the driver and the only person inside of the vehicle.

The agency said that its preliminary investigation indicates that the truck was heading eastbound on SR-132 when it moved into the westbound lane and collided with a metal guardrail before entering Goodwin Creek.

The CHP said that it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash and that it is still trying to determine the specific time of the crash.
