LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - On Tuesday, Bob Dorough officially received his plaque on the Plainview Walk of Fame.

Dorough was a member of the Plainview High School Band. He was also in the Army band during World War II. Following that, he went to North Texas State University and Columbia for graduate school.

According to a release, Dorough, who was born and raised in Plainview, worked with various jazz musicians including Miles Davis. He’s most famous for composing and performing songs in the television series “Schoolhouse Rock!”

His daughter, Aralee, was present for the unveiling of his plaque alongside Plainview Walk of Fame Committee Chair Rodney Watson.
