El Paso Film Festival named top 50 festivals for filmmakers worldwide

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — In its seventh year of operation, the El Paso Film Festival is being recognized worldwide for filmmakers.

El Paso Film Festival (EPFF) has been named one of the top 50 film festivals worldwide worth the entry fee, according to MovieMaker Magazine.

The yearly list is created to serve filmmaker’s resources to see which film festivals are on the rise and offer opportunities to assist their careers, according to the news release by EPFF.

“Being recognized as one of the “Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” is a testament to the incredible work, growth and impact of the El Paso Film Festival. This acknowledgment underscores our commitment to providing a platform that celebrates and elevates independent filmmakers, and we are proud to be that beacon for El Paso,” said Artistic Director of EPFF, Carlos Corral.

EPFF was founded in 2018 by Coral in support of the Paso Del Norte Community Foundation. According to EPFF, the film festival is seeking to become El Paso’s first Oscar-qualifying film festival in West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Northern Mexico regions.

The annual El Paso Film Festival will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 through Saturday, Sep. 28. Badges and passes for the festival will be available for purchase starting in May 2024.
