$100K reward offered for information in Kansas post office burglaries

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Investigators are looking for the person responsible for breaking into four Kansas post office locations.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service said the burglaries happened in the eastern part of the state last week.

The crimes all happened while the post office locations were closed.

Inspectors said the first burglary happened at the post office located at 102 N. Center Street in Parker, Kan. The crime happened sometime between 4:30 p.m. on April 4 and 8:30 a.m. on April 5.

Inspectors believe the burglary is linked to on at the post office located at 112 4th Avenue in Bucyrus, Kan. The thief hit the Bucyrus location between 11:15 a.m. April 6, and 7:45 a.m. on April 8. The next post office burglarized is about 35 miles south of Bucyrus in Lane, Kansas. Inspectors say the burglar broke into the post office in Lane during the same timeframe.

A fourth burglary is linked to the crime spree, according to inspectors. They believe the same person burglarized the post office on Main Street in Rantoul, Kan. between 3 p.m. on April 6, and 8 a.m. on April 8.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
