HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - There’s a better chance for more widespread frost and freezing conditions tonight...especially in areas where clouds clear out. This will mainly be for central, northern and eastern areas. It’s in these areas where there is a freeze warning in affect overnight tonight. So remember to protect the pipes, plants and pets. Clouds will remain farther south and west. In fact, areas to the west and southwest will have a chance of rain, mixing with and changing to snow. Some snow may accumulate with up to an inch possible closer to the Colorado border. Low temperatures tonight will range from the low/mid 20s northwest to the mid 30s southeast. The Tri-Cities will likely drop to right around or a little below the freezing point tomorrow morning.

Much of the area will be mostly cloudy to cloudy again tomorrow with continued snow and rain over Southwest Nebraska. Temperatures will be cool and even chilly. Highs will range from the low/mid 40s west to the mid 50s east. We’ll see more clearing from north to south Saturday night, but some light rain and snow will remain over southwestern areas. With the clearing, it’ll be another chilly where many will drop below freezing. Lows will range from the mid 20s northwest to the mid 30s south. Sunshine returns Sunday and temperatures start to warm up with highs into the low to mid 60s.

Temperatures will be more seasonable next week in the 60s and 70s. Monday will be one of our warmer days with highs from the mid 60s northwest to the upper 70s south. It will be a windier day with a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms. Temperatures will cool down Tuesday and Wednesday behind a cold front. Most will be in the 60s. Temperatures come up a little later in the week. Chances of rain and thunderstorms may pick up from Thursday into the weekend. There’s still too much uncertainty to know if severe weather will impact our area, so stay tuned to for the latest updates.
