Gold Little Changed, Still Higher Over the Past Week
Gold futures were little changed early Friday at $2397.10. That suggests traders aren’t turning to the yellow metal as a safe haven amid new tensions in the Middle East.
Gold prices are still up 1.5% over the past five days and 11% over the past month. The rally has strengthened this year despite rising bond yields, which would normally push gold prices down. But this year, buying by central banks, especially China, is pushing gold prices higher.
