ELSBERRY -- The Fulton Hornets lost their fourth straight, falling 8-0 in a 78-minute mercy-rule defeat against the Elsberry Lady Indians Tuesday at Elsberry High School.

Without starting goalkeeper Hallie Howard, Fulton's Ava Vore made 15 saves in 23 attempts. The Hornets had just four shots (one shot on goal).

With the result, Fulton dropped to 1-11, and Elsberry improved to 2-5.

"The girls worked hard tonight in our game against Elsberry," Fulton girls soccer coach Abby Wilson said. "They've had a lot of games in a very short period of time, but still put forth effort and support each other when they are feeling tired, so I am very proud of them."

Fulton faces district opponent Wright City (3-6) at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Wright City High School in Wright City.
