Man crashes into parked car, leaves scene: Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office

A man walked away from the scene of a hit-and-run after he rammed into another man's vehicle and continued to press the gas causing a "burnout," the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) says.

Deputies say they responded to the crash in unincorporated Boynton Beach at 2:19 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash with injuries that involved two vehicles.

The arrest report says, upon arrival, deputies found a white Jaguar that had damage to the front end. The other vehicle was a black Ford Mustang with damage to its passenger door.

The victim told deputies that he backed into a driveway to pick up a friend when the crash happened. The arrest report continues that while still in the driver seat of his vehicle, the man identified as 23-year-old Shelby Charles, crashed into him.

The report continues that the man was checked by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) but was not transported to the hospital although the victim claimed to have injuries to his left side.

When deputies confronted Charles he denied driving the vehicle and expressed no concern about the incident, the report reads,

At 3:50 p.m. Charles was arrested, the report states. He faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, the report continues.
