  • Wright on his Premier League Darts campaign

I’ve got a few months yet to win majors. I’ll get myself ready for that. It’s been a disaster this year in the Premier League for me.

“I can’t explain the reasoning of it. It’s just one of those things.

“I’m not moaning about it but maybe it’s the format, being at the venue for so long getting ready for it.”

  • Peter Wright exclusive

Peter Wright has revealed that he will only do one more Premier League season.

He exclusively told SunSport: “If I win a major and they pick me next year that will probably be my last Premier League. I’ll try my hardest to go out with a win.

“I’m getting older and all the travelling is tough. I’d concentrate on all the other tournaments. Let these other youngsters like Joe Cullen and Chris Dobey get their chance.

“Is it the end? No. I believe I can win a major this year, definitely.

“Obviously we’ve got some fantastic players at the moment, the two Lukes and Gary Anderson.”

  • Why Gerwyn Price didn't play last night

Gerwyn Price did not compete in last night's Premier League Darts show in Aberdeen.

Price, 39, was forced to withdraw due to a back problem that has led to a trapped nerve.

This unfortunate development meant that the Welshman's quarter-final opponent Luke Humphries received a bye into the semis.

    • Luke Humphries 13/8
    • Michael van Gerwen 9/2

  • How he won it

The winning moment for Luke Littler, capitalising on a missed dart at double 6 from Rob Cross.

What a moment that would've been. And given Cross the darts for the match!

But it wasn't to be and Littler reigned supreme once more.

  • Best in the world

Sky Sports pundit Wayne Mardle claimed that Littler is the best player in the world.

He said: “He’s having that rub of the green and that little bit of luck that you need to win in these short format matches.

“He’s the master of darts at the moment. He is playing, I think, the best darts right now.

“Luke Humphries is the World No.1 and world champ but he has just gone off the boil.

“But Luke Littler is getting the rub of the green. To win things you need that.”

  • Nightly report

Luke Littler booked his place in finals night after making it back-to-back wins in Premier League Darts.

The Warrington wonderkid put on a masterclass display in Aberdeen to extend his lead at the top of the table.

Rob Cross proved no match for Littler in the final, which ended 6-4 to The Nuke.

Littler drew first blood as he broke Cross' throw in the first leg of the match, only for Voltage to bounce back to level the match at 1-1.

The pair then each held throw before Littler began to ramp up the pressure, narrowly missing bullseye to break Cross for a second time.

He made no mistake when he returned to the oche however, checking out 25 to seize the initiative.

  • Littler reacts

Luke Littler told Sky he doesn't think he's the current best player in the world.

Speaking after securing qualification with tonight's win, he said: "I can now settle in Leeds next week and then the last one in Sheffield and just play with freedom.

"I will aim to win the other two night but if it's not to be it is all focused on London.

"I think I have definitely settled into the Premier League. The first few weeks was OK I have got used to the routine. I've won four nights now and really think I've settled myself."

Asked if he's the best player in the world, Littler replied: "No."

  • How we stand

Both Luke's came into this Premier League campaign as debutants.

And the pair are now officially in the play offs. They've both qualified with two nights to spare.

Nathan Aspinall, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith in a massive fight for those third and fourth spaces.

Is Rob Cross out of it...?

  • Winning machine

Luke Littler wins his fourth night in this year's Premier League.

Remember after the world championship there was debate whether or not he should be included and invited to take part?

That seems so stupid now as he flies high at the top of the table.
