Asheville police identifies suspect in homicide investigation in Asheville, North Carolina
The Asheville Police Department has identified and charged the suspect in a homicide investigation.

APD says the officers were called on Thursday to Tunnel Road just after 3:10 p.m. regarding a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in the nearby area who had been shot in the chest.
According to police, the man was taken to Mission Hospital by Buncombe County EMS in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.
APD identified the suspect as Kenneth Maurice West Jr., 24, of Rock Hill. He taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
