April 04, 2024 | Men's Gymnastics

NORMAN – Eight University of Oklahoma men's gymnasts earned a total of 13 regular season All-America honors from the College Gymnastics Association, the organization announced Thursday.

Junior Emre Dodanli was named an All-American on floor exercise, vault and horizontal bar, redshirt sophomore Fuzzy Benas was named an All-American in the all-around and on parallel bars, and fifth-year senior Jack Freeman was named an All-American on floor exercise and horizontal bar. Senior Zach Nunez and sophomore Ignacio Yockers received All-America honors on pommel horse and sophomore Kelton Christiansen was named an All-America on horizontal bar, while freshmen Nico Hamilton and Tas Hajdu received All-America honors on floor exercise and still rings, respectively.

Regular season All-Americans have been recognized by the CGA since the 2020 season. The top eight-ranked gymnasts and ties on each event and in the all-around receive CGA Regular Season All-America accolades.

Dodanli leads the nation on floor exercise and is the only gymnast nationally to be ranked in the top-5 in three events. He earned two regular season All-America honors last year and now has received five in his career.

Benas leads the nation in all-around average and ranks third on p-bars. He is the only gymnast nationally ranked among the top-15 in four events. He earned four regular season All-America honors as a freshman in 2022 (rings, vault, p-bars and all-around), and is now a six-time CGA Regular Season All-American

This is the second straight season in which Freeman has been named a regular season All-American on floor and high bar, and the third straight year he has been ranked among the top-8 nationally on high bar. He now has five career regular season All-America honors.

Nunez has earned regular season All-America honors on pommel horse in three straight years, and he has four career regular season honors including the all-around in 2023. Yockers (pommel horse) and Christiansen (high bar) are regular season All-Americans on their respective events for the second year in a row. This is the first career regular season All-America honor for both freshmen Hamilton and Hajdu.
