Barnegat tops Manchester Township - Softball recap

Riley Schmidt went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run to steer Barnegat to a 5-2 victory over Manchester Township in a Shore ‘B’ South matchup at Manchester Township.

Barnegat pulled ahead 2-1 after the third inning, and added two more scores in the fourth. Jamison Hogan pitched six innings for Barnegat (2-1), striking out seven and walking just one batter. Hogan allowed just one earned run during his shift.

Eva Watts posted a double for Barnegat, while Jadeyn Bodziak and Avalyn Leach also registered a hit.

Gabby Minnecci went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double for Manchester Township (1-2).
